What is Rust?
Rust is a multiplayer survival game where players wake up on an island with nothing but a rock and a torch. You gather resources, craft tools and weapons, build and upgrade a base from twig to armored walls, and defend it from other players who want what you have. Raids, clans, trading and monthly wipes keep every server different, which is why so many communities run their own Rust server with their own rules, maps and plugins.
Why Choose HTNetwork for Your Rust Server Hosting?
With HTNetwork, your Rust server is installed for you and online in minutes, and our panel takes care of the jobs that usually eat your evenings. Set a wipe schedule and your players get an in-game countdown before each one, with a fresh map seed, a backup taken first, and your plugins, settings and admins kept. On forced wipe day the panel waits for the Facepunch update, then counts down and restarts your server so it updates itself, with nothing for you to do.
Switch between Vanilla, Oxide (uMod) and Carbon in one click, then search and install uMod plugins from the panel and keep them up to date. Pick a Procedural or Barren map from 1000 to 6000 in size, a Facepunch map like Hapis, Craggy or Savas, or paste a RustMaps link for a custom map. Add owners and moderators by SteamID, schedule up to four daily restarts, and edit your server listing and settings without touching a file.
Every Rust server runs on AMD Ryzen 9 9950X with DDR5 RAM and NVMe storage, with plans from 6GB to 20GB of memory and DDoS protection included. Into other survival games? Try our 7 Days to Die server hosting or Minecraft server hosting.

Rust Server Hosting FAQ
Pick a plan and a location, complete checkout, and your Rust dedicated server is installed for you automatically. There is no SteamCMD install, no port forwarding and no PC to leave running at home. Within minutes you can log in to the control panel, set your server name, description, header image, tags and map, and copy the F1 client.connect address to share with your players.
Rust server hosting at HTNetwork starts at $9.00/month with the Twig plan, for small maps with 6GB DDR5 RAM. The Wood plan is $14.00/month with 8GB RAM, the Stone plan is $20.00/month with 12GB RAM, the Metal plan is $27.00/month with 16GB RAM, and the Armored plan is $36.00/month with 20GB RAM and 6 cores. DDoS protection and NVMe storage are included with every plan.
Rust keeps the whole map in memory, so map size matters more than player count. The Twig plan (6GB) suits a small map of around 2,000 to 2,500 for a few friends. For the default 3,500 to 4,000 map, choose Wood (8GB) or Stone (12GB). Large maps, heavy plugin setups and busy wipe days run best on Metal (16GB) or Armored (20GB).
Yes. Switch between Vanilla, Oxide (uMod) and Carbon in one click, and the framework installs itself and stays up to date. You can then search uMod’s Rust plugins and install them in one click, see what is installed, check for updates, and update or remove plugins from the panel. Plugins run on the server, so your players do not need to install anything to join.
Yes. Choose a Procedural or Barren map with any size from 1000 to 6000 and your own seed, with a random seed button and a RustMaps preview link. You can also run the Facepunch maps Hapis, Craggy and Savas, or paste a RustMaps or paid map download link to load a custom map. Larger maps need more memory, so pick a plan with enough RAM for the map you want to run.
Wipe in one click with a map wipe, or a full wipe of the map and blueprints, and choose an in-game countdown of up to 60 minutes that players see in chat. You can also schedule up to three wipes, weekly or every two weeks, on a day and time in your timezone, with “every two weeks” lining up with the monthly forced wipe. Each wipe can use a new random map seed, and only the world and blueprints are deleted: your plugins, settings, admins and Rust+ pairings are kept. A wipe history shows what ran, when, and whether it worked.
On the first Thursday of the month, the panel waits for the Facepunch update to appear on Steam, then gives your server an in-game countdown and restarts it so it updates itself. You choose what else happens that day: just the update, a map wipe or a full wipe. Your server updates on time with nothing for you to do.
A backup is taken automatically before every wipe. It leaves out the game files, so it is small and fast. When your backup slots are full, the oldest pre-wipe backup is replaced, and backups you make yourself are never touched.
Your server updates Rust from Steam every time it restarts. Schedule up to four restarts a day with in-game countdown warnings, or restart in one click with a countdown. A server you have turned off is never started by a schedule.
Add owners and moderators by their SteamID in the panel, with no file editing. Changes apply straight away while the server is running.
You can run a Rust server on your own PC for free, but it needs a lot of memory, only stays online while your PC is on, and relies on your home connection. Our Rust server hosting starts at $9/month and keeps your server online 24/7 with DDoS protection.
Yes. If your server outgrows your current plan, you can upgrade to a larger plan from the billing area without losing your map or player data. If you need full remote desktop access to run several game servers on one machine, take a look at our Game VPS plans.
You can deploy your server in London (UK), Texas (USA) or Sydney (Australia). Choose the location closest to most of your players for the lowest ping. We host other games in the same locations too.
